Besides Spanish, his native language, and Japanese, his maternal language, he also speaks English and has knowledge of other latin languages (French and Portuguese).

In 2000, he had a chance to perform Argentine tango dance in a presentation of individual culture by students studying abroad at his university. This experience led him to devote himself to the tango culture, which has made a strong and profound impression on his life. While studying at the university, he continued to refine his tango dance by studying with many tango masters who visited Tokyo, such as the renowned virtuoso tango couples, Nito & Elba, Gabriel Misse & Alejandra Martiñan, Fabian Salas & Carolina del Rivero, etc.
In 2005 to 2007, Juan Carlos became the general coordinator and manager of the Luna de Tango Company, a tango event organization in Tokyo (dissolved in 2008).
